DESCRIPTION:GOAL:\nThis aquatic exercise class is offered to expectant mothers who are looking for a way to maintain good overall health during and following pregnancy. This 1-hour session will work to address a full-body fitness education\, including low-impact aerobic exercise with stretching\, strengthening\, and range of motion activities for the entire body. Aiming to reduce pain associated with later stages of pregnancy and improve on general stabilization as your body prepares to give birth to your child. \nBENEFITS:\nWater is a phenomenal environment to help achieve strength\, motion\, and reduced pain. The buoyancy of water supports our body’s weight and reduces the pressure on our joints and spine. The warm water pool provides a reduction of pain associated with the later stages of pregnancy for expecting moms. \n*This is a free class for women who are pregnant. You don’t have to be a member of the wellness center or an Astera Health patient to register. DESCRIPTION:Astera Health will host its 38th Annual EMS Night program on Tuesday\, March 11\, from 5-9 p.m. at Karvonen’s Funeral Home in Wadena. This event will be hybrid with YouTube Livestream option for those attending virtually. Registration is required for everyone – to assist with food ordering and logging continuing education hours. REGISTER HERE \nEMS Personnel:\nFirst responders\, emergency medical technicians\, paramedics\, emergency room nurses\, emergency medical service educators\, and emergency personnel from fire and police departments are encouraged to attend. \nThis four-hour program is designed to provide education for personnel in the EMS system. \nCredits\nThis program meets the criteria for continuing education established by the National Registry of EMTs for three continuing education hours. This course has been approved by the Peace Officers Standards and Training Board (POST) for continuing education credit. Officers are expected to keep a record of the continuing education courses they have attended and be able to verify their attendance. Online registration is required to receive credit for the three continuing education hours (register here). Training vendors are encouraged to give officers a certificate of completion or other proof of completion for the officers’ records. SUMMARY:Pregnancy Pool Class
DESCRIPTION:GOAL:\nThis aquatic exercise class is offered to expectant mothers who are looking for a way to maintain good overall health during and following pregnancy. This 1-hour session will work to address a full-body fitness education\, including low-impact aerobic exercise with stretching\, strengthening\, and range of motion activities for the entire body. Aiming to reduce pain associated with later stages of pregnancy and improve on general stabilization as your body prepares to give birth to your child. \nBENEFITS:\nWater is a phenomenal environment to help achieve strength\, motion\, and reduced pain. The buoyancy of water supports our body’s weight and reduces the pressure on our joints and spine. The warm water pool provides a reduction of pain associated with the later stages of pregnancy for expecting moms. \nThe class will be run by two of our aquatics therapists who have recently had children themselves and know the benefits of the water. \n*This is a free class for women who are pregnant. You don’t have to be a member of the wellness center or a Astera Health patient to register. Class size is limited to 6 people though\, so it will be first come\, first serve for pre-registration. \nConditions or situations where Aquatic Therapy would not be used: \n\nRuptured membranes\nSignificant heart disease\nSignificant lung disease\nPersistent bleeding in 2nd or 3rd trimester\nPlacenta previa after 26 weeks gestation\nPremature labor\nIncompetent cervix\nViral infection\, communicable diseases
