What inspired you to get into medicine?
When I was young, I always wanted to be in the healthcare field, and nursing was an area where I felt I could make the most impact. I realized this impact in developing relationships and trust. Without trust, the best care cannot be given. Becoming a nurse practitioner expands my ability to build these relationships, helping people make the best decisions for their care and health.
Why did you choose Astera Health?
My mother worked at Astera Health for over 30 years! I remember visiting her for lunch; her coworkers and the staff were always so welcoming and friendly. When I moved back to the area and started working at Astera Health as a nurse, the experience was no different! This community is special, and as an advanced practice provider, I want to be a part of an organization that truly cares about the community and people. Providing the best holistic care is very important to me.
What do you like to do in your downtime?
My husband and I enjoy fishing, bow-hunting, golfing, and all things outdoors. We own and operate Twin Lakes Lodge & Resort, which brings many fun memories every summer! We also like to build and remodel.
What is one interesting, unique or fun thing that most people may not know about you?
I am missing a portion of my left thumb due to a miter saw accident.
