Why did you decide to pursue a career in medicine?
I have always loved science, enjoy connecting with people, and working to improve their health situation. I have found it is a profession where I'm always learning and never bored.
What is your favorite part of working in the medical field?
The patients! Whether it's a brief encounter or an ongoing relationship, I am able to learn about another person and their hobbies, interests, concerns, and goals. I also enjoy celebrating their achievements with them and being there to grieve with them during their losses.
What can a patient expect from you as a provider?
They can expect honesty and someone who likes to take a few extra minutes to learn more about them as a person.
What do you like to do in your downtime?
In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors. I am an avid cyclist and paddler and enjoy running and cross-country skiing. My husband and I have two sons and reside near New York Mills. We love traveling and sharing in adventures!
What is one interesting, unique or fun thing that most people may not know about you?
I am a fan of mountain biking! I have been an assistant coach for the area's middle and high school mountain bike team for the past several years. The team competes in events throughout the state with over 2,000 participating in Minnesota.
