Donate Items to Astera Health
Thank you for your interest in supporting Astera Health. Item donations, also called in-kind gifts, can help bring comfort and care to patients and families in our community.
Learn more about donating items
Before donating an item, please review the information below. These guidelines explain what items may be accepted, how gifts are reviewed and when extra steps may be needed. This helps us make sure each donation is safe, useful and supports the needs of our patients and organization.
To help ensure the safety and comfort of all patients, we ask that donated items follow these guidelines:
- All items must be new and unused
- Please provide only scent-free products
(many patients are highly sensitive to fragrances during treatment) - No food, candy, gum, or homemade treats
- Avoid heavily scented lotions, perfumes, candles, or air fresheners
- Please do not include latex products
- Items should be clean, individually packaged when possible, and easy to sanitize
Suggested donation items include:
- Lip balm (unscented)
- Unscented hand lotion
- Soft blankets or socks
- Puzzle books or journals
- Pens, coloring books, or playing cards
- Travel-size tissues or hand sanitizer
- Comfort items such as eye masks or neck pillows
Because these gifts are used in a health care setting, all items must be reviewed before they are accepted.
This review helps us make sure donated items:
- Support the mission and needs of Astera Health
- Meet safety and infection prevention guidelines
- Can be properly stored, cleaned or shared with patients
- Are appropriate for use in a health care setting
- Can be used based on current patient and organization needs
Some gifts, such as valuable items or special property, may need extra review or an appraisal before they can be accepted.
Astera Health Foundation does not assign a dollar value to non-appraised item donations. Donors are responsible for deciding the value of their gift, if needed.
