Maternal-Fetal Medicine

A high-risk pregnancy can bring extra questions and worry. Astera Health partners with CentraCare Maternal-Fetal Medicine to offer specialized pregnancy care at our Legacy Campus. This service helps patients get expert support close to home.

Maternal-fetal medicine doctors, also called perinatologists, care for people who need extra monitoring during pregnancy. They work with your OB-GYN, family medicine provider and care team to help keep you and your baby as healthy as possible.

What is a high-risk pregnancy?

A high-risk pregnancy means you or your baby may have a higher chance of health concerns before, during or after birth. It does not always mean something is wrong. It means you may need extra care, testing or monitoring.

  • Have a baby with a diagnosed health concern
  • Had diabetes, high blood pressure, or another long-term health condition before pregnancy
