What inspired you to get into medicine?

My grandfather was diagnosed with prostate cancer when I was in elementary school. I often accompanied him for his radiation treatments, and I quickly developed a love for the hospital environment. I combined that with my interest in human biology and made the decision to eventually attend medical school.

What do you like to do in your downtime?

When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, kids, and family. I love being at home reading, cooking, or gardening, and I also enjoy watching sporting events.

What is one interesting, unique or fun thing that most people may not know about you?

I am an avid sports fan, especially when it comes to the MN Vikings and MN Wild.
