What your mama never taught you is a unique exploration of womanhood in all phases of life. If you have never attended one of our Bite Size Conversations, it’s a special event where patients and community members are invited to an informal meet and greet with an Astera provider. Topics can range from women’s health to orthopedic surgery with experts like an OB/GYN and orthopedic surgeon. These events allow patients to get to know prospective providers on a deeper level while educating themselves on fascinating health topics.

OBGYN: What your mama never told you

Hala Madi, MD, OB/GYN, is one of the newest additions to the Astera Health family. Dr. Madi is passionate about caring for women in every phase of life. This passion has taken her across the United States, caring for people in a variety of settings. Her adventures have finally brought her to Central Minnesota, and she wasted no time getting to know her patients. During a recent Bite Size Conversation, she discussed some of the finer points of women’s health. Her goal was to discuss topics that women may be in the dark about, issues that parents shied away from. In other words, what your mama never taught you.

Over 40 people attended the meeting with Dr. Madi. A packed classroom relished discussing topics their mama never taught them. The event was an introduction to Dr. Madi as much as a public forum. Dr. Madi started by introducing her practice and the cope of her care.

Scope of practice

Dr. Madi is an expert in a wide range of female reproductive ailments. During her presentation, she gave a summarized look at her practice.

  • Obstetrics care: normal and high-risk pregnancies

Furthermore, Dr. Madi covered some sensitive topics in more detail. She spoke about the menstrual cycle, menopause, hormonal replacement therapy, and endometrial cancer. At the end of the presentation, she took questions from the audience.
